Chef Steven Rojas has been in the culinary industry for 20 years. Originally from Los Angeles, he brings his California cuisine approach to Winter Haven, FL. He worked at Tru in Chicago, the Patina Restaurant LA, Chez Papa Resto in San Francisco, also as Chef de Cuisine at The Rancho Bernardo Inn in San Diego. He also learned the classic Spanish style of cooking at a three-star Michelin-rated restaurant in San Sebastian. When Chef Rojas moved back to the US he became Executive Chef at Saddle Peak Lodge in Calabasas, California. As Executive Chef in 2008 he earned his Michelin star at the age of only 28.
Chef Rojas worked in Miami with James Beard Winner, Michelle Bernstein and Michael Mina group as their chef.
Now as chef/owner and operator of Nutwood he is bringing his 20 plus years of experience of running kitchens and cooking to Winter Haven. Nutwood opened in 2017, and since then Nutwood has been awarded the Golden Spoon Award from Florida Trend magazine.
